Back

Back
5. What do I use the comments field for? Please use the comments field to clarify your order. Please do not use the comments field to make changes or add extras to your bag. Changes written in the comments field without prior permission from one of the BE team will be disregarded.

Back
6. Can I make changes or add something, like an extra strap? Yes, you can view all available options here.

7. I need some advice about the extras available. What shall I do? First have a look at the pictures and the explananatory text on the extras page. If you still have a question please email rose@belenechandia.com. Rose will be delighted to assist you.

8. Can I make a change to my order after it is placed? If you think you will want to make changes to your order, tick the box “I would like the option to make further changes”. Your order will remain open for one week. After that point, you may still be able to make changes but you will need to log in to check whether the order has already been collected by our atelier. The later your earliest delivery date, the more likely it is that you will be able to change your order.

Back
9. My order is urgent - can you help? If your order is urgent, you can write this in the comments field and DO NOT tick the box to make further changes. Our atelier will then do the best they can to accomodate your request.

Back
10. When will my bag be produced? Most orders are currently produced within 2 weeks of the order date unless you have requested a later delivery date. However, this depends on a number of factors including whether the leather and lining is currently in stock, your requested Earliest Delivery Date and the time of year. To track your bag you can view your order under My Account. You will also receive email status updates every time your bag passes a production milestone.

N.B. All dates are approximate and subject to change.

Back
11. What does the Earliest Delivery Date mean? This is the earliest date you want to receive your bag. It allows people to place orders well in advance of their required delivery date if they so wish.

Back
12. What happens if I change my mind? Can I get my deposit back? As soon as you place your order we start making preparations for it behind the scenes, so the deposit is non-refundable if you change your mind. We take a deposit as a matter of goodwill. A more usual procedure is to take the full amount of money upfront. We rely on your goodwill to allow us to continue with this policy. A bespoke order made to your specification cannot be cancelled at all once in production and you will remain liable for the full amount.

Back
13. Why are bespoke orders more expensive than stock items? It is much more expensive to produce one bag at a time than to produce several together. Without taking into account any changes or alterations, a bespoke bag costs us approximately 50% more because it takes a lot longer. In spite of this, we are currently not charging the actual cost. At least whilst it is in BETA we charging just a bit extra to make a bespoke bag, plus the cost of any changes you might make. We will review this in a few months’ time.

Back
14. What is a Bespoke Group Order? A Bespoke Group Order is when a group of people want to order the same style in the same leather, colour and lining, albeit with (at least at present) their choice of hardware. The base price of your bag will then be 10% less than if you order it individually. All the bags will be produced together and you will all agree on a production date. Anyone who is interested to see which groups are currently live can click on “join a group” on the first page of BE Couture.

Back
15. Why do you have the group function? Our group function has developed organically from a time when we were temporarily unable to accommodate bespoke orders. We enabled customers to get what they wanted by teaming up with other people wanting the same thing. Eventually we thought it would be fair to charge 10% less to those getting together as a group to order the same bag. With the launch of BE Couture we are taking the group function to the next level – opening it up to everyone so that you can all see which groups are going ahead and decide to join the one you like the sound of.

Back
16. What happens when I join a Bespoke Group Order? You first confirm your interest in joining the group. When you do so, the group owner will be notified. You can then either proceed to place a deposit immediately or wait and place your deposit later. However, if you don’t place your deposit immediately this may delay production since the order cannot go ahead until all the deposits are placed. To avoid delays for yourself and others it is best to place your deposit as early as possible. Anyone who has not placed their deposit when the order is ready to close and be produced will be removed from the list and lose the opportunity to purchase the bag.

Back
17. I want to join but I want to place the deposit next week, is that ok? See above (#16). You can do so, so long as the bag will not go into production before that time.

Back
18. Can I cancel a Bespoke Group Order once it is placed? BE Couture Deposits are non-refundable, however do make an exception for group orders. If a group order does not go ahead then you can either continue with an individual order, cancel the deposit or move the deposit to another bag.

Back
19. What are the advantages of a group order? Your bag will cost 10% less. You will also have the opportunity to interact with other BE customers and it is fun! We’re proud to say that lots of people have made friends and met others with common interests because of our handbags.

Back
20. What are the disadvantages of a group order? If you place an individual order, your bag could be produced as early as tomorrow! This is very unlikely to happen with a group order because you will have to wait for your bag to be produced until there are enough group members and you may also have to compromise on your delivery date to fit in with the other members. You can only choose the style and leather colour selected by the group. If you want your bag to be unique to you, you are better off placing an individual order.

Back
21. How can I join a group? On the BE Couture introduction page, click on “Join a Group”. There you can either put in a group code – if you know what it is – or browse the groups already going ahead and select one to join. Then you can confirm your interest and place your deposit.
Click here to join a group.

Back
22. How can I set up a new group? At present you must first contact us to check that the bag that you want is a possibility. When we have given the ok, you proceed to set up your group under "My Account”.

Back
23. How should I name my group? The group name should be easy to remember so that you can pass it on to friends. Therefore we have now limited the group name to no more than 10 characters. We suggest something easy to remember, like a name. There is no need to put the name of the item because that will be shown in any case.

Back
24. What happens if I want to pay my deposit later? How do I do it? A group order works just like an individual order. You save all your selections to your Wish List and then return at any point to place the deposit to secure the order.

25. I am still confused. I have more questions. What shall I do? If you are sure that your question is not answered on this FAQ page or if you would like some reassurance, please email our Style Advisor Rose - rose(@)belenechandia.com.
