 Maria Diana Deleon Q&A By: Lydia Parafianowicz Basics After immigrating to the U.S.A. from Manila, Philippines, Diana’s family settled in Queens, New York, when she was six-and-a-half years old. “I haven't really gone far from when I first started my journey in America,” she says. Diana currently lives in New Jersey, 45 minutes from Manhattan, and works as a Licensing Agent for the high-profile EMI Music Publishing. “Throughout my life, I've been surrounded by music,” Diana explains. “My family loves to sing and dance. […] I worked hard and very diligently in my field and eventually I was able to find a full time position. I've not looked back since.” How did you discover BE? Diana discovered BE on The Purse Forum, and was instantly hooked. She now has one TME and one Protect Me. “One day, I'd love to own loads,” she says. “BE bags are not only stylish, but sensible too!” She says she can carry her BE bag to work and look fab, and doesn’t feel bogged down by stereotypes of being a fashion-friendly beauty with a brain. “I've seen both represented well in my friends,” Diana says. “I think I'd like to add kindness and compassion in there too!” What would be your dream weekend? She says a vacation to Europe (specifically London, Paris or Tuscany) would be her top pick. But Diana also lives by a special life philosophy: “Nobody knows what the day brings. You just have to expect the unexpected. My goal is to live my life hard and always choose to be happy. You may not be able to control other people or outside forces, but you do have power over your own actions.” If you could only have one style of handbag/purse, what style would it be and why? “I love cross-body purses,” Diana says. “The ability to go and be hands free while being able to carry most of what I need is pure contentment.” What are your must-have beauty products Terax Shampoo/Artistry Facial Products/Bath & Body Lip Gloss/Balm Which fashion items are you lusting over for autumn 2009? Knee high boots/a long and thick cardigan/a Burberry trench (all excellent choices, in BE’s opinion!) What’s your favourite BE bag and how does it fit into your everyday life? She says she gets the most use out of her TME, and although she doesn’t have the I'm Beautiful, she says it’s the most “enchanting new bag” she’s seen to date. Diana’s thoughts on BE certainly make us blush: “What can I say about Jackie and BE?! Jackie is an amazing woman. I love the extra touch of personal she gives each and every one of her clients/customers. She expects the best out of herself, colleagues, and companies. I think that is the main reason she gets it.” Where else do you love to indulge? “I'm a total bookworm,” Diana says. “I love the escape it affords me. I could sit at a bookstore ALL day while sipping some tea, & enjoying a pastry. I'm a very visual person as well. I’m a photographer (by hobby only) and I love to capture regular moments and try to give them a twist that one would never realize. I love to blog and read blogs. I love to sing and dance (albeit - not very well) but I do so enjoy it!” |
