The L.A. Satchel

Tuesday, 17 April 2012 by Lydia Parafianowicz

Versatility, size and shape are the three most important qualities I look for when selecting a new bag. It’s therefore no surprise the L.A. Satchel has earned itself a top-ranking in my collection as a go-to purse that never disappoints.

The satchel can be carried by its messenger strap or adjustable handles, making it a handy side-kick when running errands, hurrying in-and-out of shops or (in my case) riding a bike. Most often I keep the handles short and carry the bag in the crook of my elbow, though I sometimes lengthen the straps and wear it over comfortably my shoulder.

The size is deceivingly large; I have simultaneously fit my wallet, a magazine, makeup bag, snack, lunchbox, scarf and pair of ballet flats with room to spare! It’s the perfect accompaniment when heading to the office – as I can fit my lunch and necessities for the day – though its sleek lines and style make it anything but frumpy or bulky.

I selected the matte black leather to ensure I could mix-and-match the bag with everything in my wardrobe. The buttery soft exterior is complimented by a classic caramel interior, complete with organized pockets for my keys and mobile phone, plus a zippered compartment for passport or other important documents.

When packed and ready to hit the road, the L.A. Satchel is the finishing touch to my daily outfit, whether I’m dressed chic or modern and edgy. After all, you can’t go wrong with a classic black bag!
