I’ve recently fallen in love – fast and hard – for Balmain. Their rock-and-roll meets feminine designs make me drool! The studs, glitter and glam mixed with a stunning palette of colours are up-town girl meets city chic meets punk! I’d kill for just about anything from their spring-summer 2010 collection but best of all I love their military-esue jackets with structured shoulders and tassles.

TIME WARP

One of my biggest regrets in life was that the pinnacle moment of my high school career (aka: PROM) did not see me in a Betsey Johnson dress. I was a mere 16 years old, a deer lost in the headlights when it came to the world of fashion. Thankfully, today I know better … but if I ever had the chance for a do-over, it would be Betsey all the way! Her dresses are not the only thing I love – her spunky, eye-popping collections mix cutesy colours with grown-up designs, making everyone remember their inner child. While shopping online one day, I came across video archives on Betsey’s site which had me laughing at while watching fashion over history. For just a few minutes, the videos were a fun diversion from work and certainly taught me a new fact: trends undoubtedly repeat themselves!

POUR LA VICTOIRE

I’m gushing over Pour La Victoire, a shoe company founded in 2007 that’s since been featured in just about every magazine imaginable since then … I’m embarrassed to say I’ve let them fly by under the radar this long! Their fabulous designs have been worn by celebs from Ashley Simpson and Cat Deeley to Anne Hathaway and Rachel Weisz and half the cast of Gossip Girl, including Jessica Szohr (seen above). Their spring 2010 collection can be viewed online here but I’m warning you in advance – you’ll might become addicted, just as I’ve have. I’m lusting over a pair of each of these: Carol (for the office), Brit (for a night out with the girls), Farrah (for the beach), and Christa (for my brother’s upcoming nuptials this summer). I hope all other newcomers to Pour La Victoire love it as much as I do!
