Physician's Formula

Three years ago, my aesthetician recommended a switch to Talc-free makeup, and since then I’ve been hooked! Talc-free makeup is becoming increasingly popular and not too difficult to find, though products can be costly. Fortunately, I discovered Physician’s Formula; available in most drugstores, their products typically cost no more than the average makeup with talc.
The benefits of my switch have been immense. Talc is a chemical ingredient in most makeup products (yes – even from the most expensive of companies!) and it breeds bacteria. It can cause irritation and breakouts on sensitive skin, clog pores, and give makeup a cake-y look on your skin. I use only Physician’s Formula foundation and powders now, and my skin looks (and feels) much healthier.
Their Mineral Face Brightener is the only 100 per cent mineral makeup I’ve found on the market (be weary of other companies that advertise ‘mineral’ makeup – the product could have only the tiniest bit of minerals included, and the rest be chemicals). It’s free from talc, oil, waxes and parabens, while the minerals allow your skin to breathe. The mix of pink, orange, white, soft citrine and green gave me a very sheer coverage (it certainly doesn't work as a foundation -- though Physican's Formula makes that too!) but it gave me a lovely natural glow.
$20.69 US at most drugstores.

My favourite thing about both these products is that they are 100 per cent organic! Biodegradable and totally natural, the eye makeup remover pads and pre-moisturized with a cleansing and conditioning formula that’s free of chemicals, parabens, synthetic preservatives, mineral oil, sulphates, genetically modified organisms, synthetic colours, synthetic fragrances! BE gives a huge thumbs up to this – we love minimizing our ecological footprint and saving our skin from harsh products. Included in Physician’s Formula’s unique ingredients are organic soy (which moisturizes and nourishes lashes), organic olive (which has natural antioxidants), organic cucumber extract (which soothes and calms the skin around eyes), and organic orange water (which nourishes and restores moisture balance). They don’t leave that nasty oily residue on your skin, either. The only bad news here is that Physician’s Formula is not yet available in Europe, so for now only our North American readers can enjoy these products.
$9.95 US for eye makeup remover pads; $6.95 US for eye makeup remover liquid, at most drugstores.
