Underwear as Outerwear
Friday, 04 June 2010 by Ashley TurowskyUnderwear as outerwear is one of spring's biggest trends – but fear not- I’m not asking you to bare all! Think of it as more of seductive layering.

On the catwalk Marc Jacobs layered a baby blue silky bra over a dusty pink blouse. Roberto Cavalli also followed suit.
Be aware: the shape of the bra and hues hint at sweet and pretty, rather than full out vixen- which is the desired route to take. But if this is too brazen for you, try a lacy neon colored camisole under a white tee for a far subtler way to expose.

Are you looking to heat things up? Then instead of sweet, go chic. Bottega Veneta teamed an ivory colored corset with a cream cardigan. A look so smart that it can almost be worn to the office, and until summer is here, layer a long sleeved T-shirt underneath.

Style tip: frayed edges and intricate sheer lace add an understated boudoir feel to crisp white tops.
For a more wearable ensemble- expand your horizons: Swimwear isn’t just for the pool or the beach. This season’s “underwear as outerwear” trend means that lingerie inspired detailing is super stylish for evening. To achieve the statement swimsuit look, team with a streamline maxi skirt and arms of bangles.
