Style Evolution: The Parka
Wednesday, 13 October 2010 by Ashley Turowsky S/S ’09 Draped: Preen saw the parka’s potential and its fit with their easy aesthetic, making the draped oversized parka an item to covet.A/W ’09 Bright Colours: Marc Jacobs called time on the winter of discontent with a riot of fluorescent colours. His parks gained a tailored, sharp-shouldered shape.
S/S ’10 Structure: The austere fabulousness at Ceine brought subtle pleasure to wardrobes. Even the parka didn’t escape a good pairing back.
A/W ’10 Fur Collar: Marc by Marc Jacobs did it best, although they were also seen at Burberry. Go super-sized faux fur in tonal colours.
