AW10 Catwalk Inspired Shop Trends: Carolina Bucci Woven Cuffs

This season, where jewellery is concerned, designers seem to focus on the wrist. As seen as Alexander Wang, Chanel and Vera Wang, chunky cuffs and layered bangles ruled the catwalk.

This season, where jewellery is concerned, designers seem to focus on the wrist. As seen above as Alexander Wang, Chanel and Vera Wang, from chunky cuffs to layered bangles the catwalk was awash with bejewelled bracelets. Although many were a little unwearable for everyday, there are plenty of beautiful styles that all work to effortless embrace the trend.

One of our favourite contemporary jewellers is Italian born but London based Carolina Bucci. Her family have been manufacturing and designing jewellery since the late 1800s so it’s hardly surprising that she’s continued on in the family business. Bucci’s pieces are very much investment ones with a delicate and feminine feel. Devoid of overt branding or over the top bling, her pieces are somehow discreet yet statement at the same time. Bucci’s collections are wide ranging but with fashion’s current love of wristwear, the ‘Woven’ collection is perhaps the most desirable.

Being crafted primarily from precious metals, her pieces are expensive. But it’s worth noting that a new collaboration for RED – the foundation that works with some of the world’s most iconic brands to raise money for AIDS and HIV programs in Africa – sees the introduction of lower price points with pieces in this range starting from a much more affordable £150.
