How to Choose Your Summer Wardrobe
Thursday, 14 April 2011 by Ashley TurowskyIt’s time to push aside your spring wardrobe and add in the summer clothes! For the past few months I have been really looking forward to summer and all of the fashion that comes with it. Summer dresses, shorts, tunics, and sandals! And of course fun summer bright bags.

For summer statement pieces, look for details, which can easily change the look of a piece of clothing. Colour blocking is spot on trend this season, which brights matched with brights and neutrals matched with neutrals.
Jump on the bandwagon and slip into a sheer maxi dress. This is the perfect item of clothing for hot days and romantic dinners. Dress down with a pair of flat sandals, and add a sexy clutch for instant nighttime chicness.

The key trend for summer 2011 is the 70’s era. There will be a lot of white, cream, and nude which are of course staples that should definitely be in your wardrobe. Look for dresses, blouses, trousers, and shoes in these colours. These are perfect starting points for your summer wardrobe as they will match with everything, including those bright colour blocking colours.

And don’t forget about the romantic lace pieces you need to pick up. Lace is back to its classic and traditional roots with simple and gorgeous dresses. Whether they be maxi or mini, be sure to add something with white lace to your wardrobe.
Be sure to pick up a nude handbag that was will transition from season to season. As we have clearly seen, this colour trend is still going strong. Try pairing something neutral with your colour blocking outfit filled with blues, purples, and yellows.
