Florian Jayet developed a love of textiles from his grandmother who was a professional pattern cutter and seamstress. Born and raised in France, Florian dabbled in many different career paths before discovering his true passion- fashion.
The AW11 collection combines the varied aspects of Florian’s life into a fascinating conceptual synthesis. He continues to examine the sculpted female figure- transforming a feminine silhouette into a powerful body of clothing.
The focus is on creating “a fetish wardrobe…pieces that a woman can keep forever, bringing them out on special occasions when she needs to be propelled into confidence and strength”.
Exaggerated shoulders and hips are apparent, with inspiration also lying in the iconic French fashion houses during the 1920’s. The most powerful areas on a woman’s body are her hips and her shoulders and Florian has therefore emphasized them to give a greater impression of power.
