To Pleat, Or Not To Pleat

Pleated skirts are all the rage, whether knee-skimming or full-on maxi. Swishy pleats are perfect for Spring, if you are willing to show those pale legs to the world. Often made of silk or lightweight cotton, their structure is a little looser than A-lines or tulips.
On the left: Topshop's wealth of colours means that anyone can midi-pleat without feeling like they're skipping 6th Form English class. If you prefer understated pleat-chic, head to Rag&Bone for the sumptuously silky cream number on the right.
Trans-seasonal and much easier to wear than the new flares, pleats may be here to stay.
