Surprise Me Pebbled Luxe Leather Dark purple

i must admit, initially i ordered this bag because it was in the sale and it was in my budget! i'd always been a bit sceptical about messenger bags in the past - i'd owned several - by Radley and Mulberry - and never got on with them because to me they just looked like a glorified envelope and either the bag bulged out when you put anything in it, or everything slooshed around at the bottom....
but as soon as my SM arrived i was really pleased - the leather is gorgeous, its roomy but not cumbersome. i can hold essentials for a day out with the kids - iphone, keys, lipgloss, purse, tissues, travel pass etc and not look weighed-down, its great when i want a hands-free option (like in the park this afternoon!) and the added bonus that i can wear it under my Drizabone coat when it rains so the bag stays dry and i don't have to stash it underneath my buggy or try and keep it dry under an umberella. The inside pockets mean that my travel pass and lipgloss don't migrate to the bottom of the bag either!!
i've been pleasantly surprised with this bag - have used it 3 times so far and love the finish of the leather, the hardware and the leather tassels. the extra detailing like the corner finishing and threaded leather makes it feel really luxurious and a step above a standard messenger. it dresses up my standard Mum gear - which today, embarrasingly, was skinny jeans, black T, drapey cardigan, scarf and wellingtons , and meant that if i went to a cafe with the kids i could take off my coat and still have a nice bag that made it look like i'd put some thought into my outfit. the dk purple really pops and lifts it above standard black and brown..
