London Tote Midi Review

Leather:

I wasn’t sure about the anthracite leather only because I had not seen it in person. Knowing that this bag was in stock definitely helped me make the leap in trying it because I’m not sure I would have been brave enough to BEC it. This is where I think having stock bags is so important because, once I received the bag, I was able to see how gorgeous the leather is in person. It’s similar to pewter but I think it is a bit deeper in color and has a nice texture. It has proven to be a very sturdy leather. I’ve had small children step on it (unintentionally), filled it with all kinds of various items for sports, work and kids, and carried it in lousy weather. This leather handles it all beautifully with no issues so far regarding wear.

Design:

The London Tote Midi now tops my list in terms of bags that are both comfortable and gorgeous. The drop length is perfect for me and it works just fine when wearing a bulky sweater or coat. The BE team aced this aspect; I am very picky about drop lengths--I don’t like bags right under my arm. The outer pockets are FANTASTIC. Having two outside slip pockets makes it very easy for me to always find my keys, my cell phone and my sunglasses. No more rooting around my bag. A big plus. The front pocket is also plenty big to hold my Kindle (I have a picture showing how deep the pocket is for reference). I use this bag for both work and everyday errands and I have not had any need to switch out of it.

For those of you who carry water bottles--this is the perfect design! Having separate side pockets to carry drinks is wonderful because it eliminates the worry of having your bottle spill out over all your other items. The worst that could happen is that it leaks a bit only in that one pocket. It also keeps the bottle upright, making sure it doesn’t flop around with your other contents. Living in Texas means I’m always carrying a water bottle so this is huge. I figure it’s also an advantage for people with urban lifestyles who have to carry their entire day with them to work and the city.
